Anti-TNF alpha antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene TNF, or 'tumor necrosis factor' in humans. The 233-amino acid protein is a member of the Tumor necrosis factor family and antibodies to the TNF alpha antigen may be useful for studying cytokine signaling. The cellular localization is predicted to be membrane-associated and secreted. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
