Description

POLARstar Omega, the multi-detection microplate reader for life science laboratories, offers the following detection modes:

• Fluorescence polarization - including Transcreener™
• Fluorescence intensity - including FRET
• Time-resolved fluorescence - including DELFIA®
• TR-FRET - including HTRF® and LanthaScreen™High-performance luminescence (flash and glow) - including BRET, DLReady™ certified
• AlphaScreen®/AlphaLISA®
• Spectrometer based UV/Vis absorbance - measurement of complete spectra or individual wavelengths

The POLARstar Omega has two emission photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), giving it a unique advantage over other readers in that it can read two emission wavelengths simultaneously. Because the POLARstar Omega does not have to switch filters or polarizers to read the second channel, its Simultaneous Dual Emission (SDE) makes FP, FRET, and BRET assays faster and more precise.

Additionally, the POLARstar Omega has an optional Atmospheric Control Unit (ACU) which offes complete and individual control of O2 and CO2 within your microplate reader. The microprocessor controlled ACU independently regulates CO2 (0% - 20%) and O2 (1% - 19%) so that any combination can be programmed into the unit making it unnecessary to change gas cylinders or piped gas supplies to reproduce required physiological conditions. When combined with extended temperature control (up to 65°C) and unrivalled shaking options (orbital, linear, double orbital, variable speed), the ACU provides a true ‘walk away’ solution for e.g. long term cell based assays.

Software:
Comprehensive MARS Data Analysis Software allows displaying and analyzing endpoint, kinetic and spectral data using comprehensive data reduction algorithms and various curve fitting options. Up to 384 complete spectra or kinetic curves can be viewed individually or overlaid. For further data processing results can be easily exported to Microsoft Excel™. BMG LABTECH's established Reader Control Software's automatic optic switching feature allows for changes between detection mode and for switching from top to bottom reading. The "QuickStart" mode allows users to read plates in just 3 mouse clicks. Impressive well-scanning software allows cell-based assays to be performed with ease.
