Anti-KIT proto-oncogene, receptor tyrosine kinase antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene KIT in humans. The gene may also be known as CD117, Receptor, Tr-kit, c-kit, kita, and C-Kit. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 109.9 kilodaltons in mass. The KIT marker can be used to identify Mast Cells, Type A Collecting Duct Intercalated Cells, Outer Medullary Collecting Duct Intercalated Cells, Large Intestine Lamina Propria Lymphocytes, and Cell.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
