Anti-TNF antibodies are useful for the detection and measurement of TNF. This target gene encodes the protein 'tumor necrosis factor' in humans and may also be known as TNF alpha, TNFalpha, DIF, TNFa, APC1 protein, and TNF-alpha. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 25.6 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found. Antibodies to the TNF antigen may be useful for studying cytokine signaling.
