Anti-Interleukin 6 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene IL6 in humans. The Interleukin 6 protein has a reported amino acid length of 212 and an expected mass of 23.7 kDa. The protein may also be known as IL-6, HSF, BSF-2, BSF2, CDF, HGF, and B-cell differentiation factor. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
