Lymphocytes are white blood cells that arise from the common lymphoid progenitor. They then proceed to differentiate into other cell subtypes such as T cells, B cells, and NK cells. Mature lymphocytes traverse the body and can be found enriched in various areas, including the peripheral blood, spleen and lymph nodes. Common cell isolation methods for the study of lymphocytes are through density isolation and magnetic separation.
