Anti-CD16 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CD16 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FCGR3A gene, which encodes Fc gamma receptor IIIa. This protein is known to function in receptor-mediated signaling pathways and immune response pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of CD16 has a canonical amino acid length of 254 residues and a protein mass of 29.1 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in the spleen, skin, placenta, lung, and bone marrow. The CD16 marker has been described in the characterization of CD16 Monocytes, Mature Natural Killer Cells, Mature Neutrophils, Natural Killer Cells, and Natural Killer (NK) Cells.*
