Anti-p65 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target p65 is a known alias name of the protein synaptotagmin 1, encoded by the SYT1 gene in humans. This 422-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a calcium sensor that participates in triggering neurotransmitter release at the synapse (By similarity). It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles and cytoplasm of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in melanocytes.
