CD45RA antibodies are immunological tools used to detect the antigen CD45RA. CD45RA is an isoform of the CD45 complex, previously known as Leucocyte Common Antigen (LCA) and expressed on T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, and most monocytes. It is encoded by the PTPRC gene and is also called Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type C. CD45 is important for lymphocyte development and cell signaling through regulation of the Scr family kinase Lck, which phosphorylates the T cell antigen receptor. It has been associated with severe combined immunodeficiency syndrome (SCID). CD45RA antibodies can be used for flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, identification of lymphocyte subsets, and the classification of lymphomas.
