Anti-CMyc antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The CMyc antigen is another term for the human protein MYC proto-oncogene, bHLH transcription factor, encoded by the MYC gene. The protein is reported to be a transcription factor that binds DNA in a non-specific manner, yet also specifically recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 454 residues and a mass of 50.6 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. Other alias names for CMyc include MRTL, MYCC, and bHLHe39. Some CMyc antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
