Anti-CD8 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CD8 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CD8A gene, which encodes CD8 subunit alpha. This protein is known to function in adaptive immune responses and receptor-mediated signaling pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of CD8 has a canonical amino acid length of 235 residues and a protein mass of 25.7 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the spleen, skin, lymph node, bone marrow, and appendix. The CD8 marker has been described in the characterization of Mature CD8 T Cells, Lymphocytes, CD8 ?a+ ?ß Intraepithelial T Cells, CD8 ?a+ Gamma-Delta Intraepithelial T Cells, and CD8 ?ß+ ?ß Intraepithelial T Cells.*
