Anti-CD25 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CD25 is a known alias name of the protein interleukin 2 receptor subunit alpha, encoded by the IL2RA gene in humans. This 272-amino acid residue protein is a known receptor for interleukin-2. It is localized to the membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the tonsil, spleen, lymph node, and cerebellum. The CD25 marker has been identified in populations of Large Intestine Lamina Propria Lymphocytes, T Follicular Regulatory Cells, Regulatory T Cells, and T Regulatory Cells.* Other synonyms for CD25 include IDDM10 and IL2R.
