Anti-p38 alpha antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target p38 alpha is a known alias name of the protein mitogen-activated protein kinase 14, encoded by the MAPK14 gene in humans. This 360-amino acid residue protein is known to be a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an essential component of the MAP kinase signal transduction pathway. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated, acetylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Some p38 alpha antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
