HLA-DR antibodies are immunological tools used to detect the DR isotype of the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA). HLA-DR is a transmembrane protein belonging to the MHC Type 2 class. HLA-DR is expressed on antigen-presenting cells like macrophages, monocytes and activated T cells. HLA-DR has been associated with diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, ulcerative colitis and Type 1 diabetes. HLA-DR antibodies can be used for Western blotting, immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry.
