Anti-Transferrin receptor antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene TFRC in humans. The transferrin receptor protein has a reported amino acid length of 760 and an expected mass of 84.9 kDa. The protein may also be known as CD71, TfR, TFR1, transferrin receptor (p90, CD71), transferrin receptor protein 1, and IMD46. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
