Anti-PARP antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The PARP antigen is another term for the human protein poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1, encoded by the PARP1 gene. The protein is a reported Poly-ADP-ribosyltransferase that mediates poly-ADP-ribosylation of proteins and plays a key role in DNA repair. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 1014 residues and a mass of 113.1 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus, chromosomes, and cytoplasm and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The PARP protein is a member of the ARTD/PARP protein family. These PARP antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
