Anti-BP1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target BP1 is a known alias name of the protein distal-less homeobox 4, encoded by the DLX4 gene in humans. This 240-amino acid residue protein is believed to play a role in determining the production of hemoglobin S. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in leukemia cells and placenta.
