Anti-CD274 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein CD274 molecule. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 290 amino acid residues and a mass of 33.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the heart, skeletal muscle, placenta and lung. A member of the BTN/MOG protein family, CD274 is known to play an important role in induction and maintenance of immune tolerance to self. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination and glycosylation. The CD274 marker can be used to identify Schwann Cells and Lymphatic Vessel Endothelial Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include B7H1, PD-L1, PDCD1L1, PDCD1LG1, PDL1, hPD-L1, programmed cell death 1 ligand 1, and B7-H. CD274 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species.
