Anti-CD196 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CD196 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CCR6 gene, which encodes C-C motif chemokine receptor 6. This protein is known to function in chemotaxis and immune response pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of CD196 has a canonical amino acid length of 374 residues and a protein mass of 42.5 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the tonsil, spleen, lymph node, bone marrow, and appendix. The CD196 marker has been described in the characterization of Regulatory T Cells and T Helper 17 Cells.* Other names for this target antigen include BN-1, C-C CKR-6, and CC-CKR-6. These CD196 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
