Anti-Major histocompatibility complex, class I, A antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene HLA-A in humans. The gene may also be known as HLAA, HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, A-1 alpha chain, and MHC class I antigen HLA-A heavy chain. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 40.8 kilodaltons in mass.
