Anti-HSP70 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HSP70 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HSPA1A gene, which encodes heat shock protein family A (Hsp70) member 1A. This protein is known to function in the response to oxidative stress, among other biological roles. The human version of HSP70 has a canonical amino acid length of 641 residues and a protein mass of 70.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, cytoplasm, and is secreted of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include HEL-S-103 and HSP70-1.
