
The ability to observe cellular processes and phenotypes in terms of spatial and morphological context is valuable in many research areas, from basic research to clinical development in areas like immuno-oncology, neurology, cardiovascular and infectious diseases. Novel platforms allow researchers to bridge the gap between high-resolution tissue imaging and gene expression through RNA or protein detection. Methods can vary from multiplexed immunodetection of multiple protein biomarkers to whole transcriptome analysis of single tissue sections.
