Anti-IV antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target IV is a known alias name of the protein ST6 N-acetylgalactosaminide alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 4, encoded by the ST6GALNAC4 gene in humans. This 302-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the metabolism of lipids, among other biological processes. It is localized to the Golgi of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types.
