Anti-Syndecan 2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the SDC2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 201 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. A member of the Syndecan proteoglycan protein family, it is known to be involved with cell migration. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include HSPG, SYND2, cell surface-associated heparan sulfate proteoglycan 1, fibroglycan, and CD362.
