Anti-MCP-1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The MCP-1 antigen is another term for the human protein C-C motif chemokine ligand 2, encoded by the CCL2 gene. The protein is known to act as a ligand for C-C chemokine receptor CCR2. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 99 residues and a mass of 11 kilodaltons. It is a secreted protein and it is reported to be expressed in the seminal plasma, endometrial fluid and follicular fluid. The MCP-1 protein is a member of the Intercrine beta (chemokine CC) protein family. Other alias names for MCP-1 include GDCF-2, HC11, and HSMCR30.
