Anti-CD152 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CD152 is a known alias name of the protein cytotoxic T-lymphocyte associated protein 4, encoded by the CTLA4 gene in humans. This 223-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in adaptive immune responses and DNA damage pathways, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be widely expressed with highest levels in lymphoid tissues. The CD152 marker has been identified in populations of Regulatory T Cells and Naive Regulatory T Cells.* Other synonyms for CD152 include ALPS5 and CD.
