Anti-eNOS antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the eNOS antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NOS3 gene, which encodes nitric oxide synthase 3. This protein is known to function in angiogenesis and the transport of ions, among other biological roles. The human version of eNOS has a canonical amino acid length of 1203 residues and a protein mass of 133.3 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane, Golgi, and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the colon and placenta. This target antigen may also be known as ECNOS.
