Anti-KIP1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target KIP1 is a known alias name of the protein cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 1B, encoded by the CDKN1B gene in humans. This 198-amino acid residue protein is a reported important regulator of cell cycle progression. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in the kidney.
