Anti-Galectin 9 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene LGALS9 in humans. The Galectin 9 protein has an expected mass of 39.5 kDa, but there are 6 reported isoforms. The protein may also be known as lectin, galactose binding, soluble 9, GAL9, lectin, galactoside binding soluble 9, HUAT, LGALS9A, and ecalectin. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
