Anti-Heat shock protein family A (Hsp70) member 5 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene HSPA5 in humans. The gene may also be known as GRP78, heat shock protein family A member 5, BIP, HEL-S-89n, MIF2, and endoplasmic reticulum chaperone BiP. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 72.3 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
