Anti-C-C motif chemokine ligand 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene CCL2 in humans. The gene may also be known as MCP-1, SCYA2, GDCF-2, HC11, HSMCR30, MCAF, and C-C motif chemokine 2. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 11 kilodaltons in mass and antibodies to the CCL2 antigen may be useful for studying cytokine signaling. The CCL2 marker can be used to identify Corticomedullary Thymic Epithelial Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
