Anti-Podocalyxin antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Podocalyxin is a known alias name of the protein podocalyxin like, encoded by the PODXL gene in humans. This 558-amino acid residue protein is reported to be involved in regulation of both adhesion and cell morphology and cancer progression. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the placenta, kidney, fallopian tube, endometrium, and cerebral cortex. Other synonyms for Podocalyxin include Gp200, PC, and PCLP.
