The gene may also be known as NIP3, BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19 kDa protein-interacting protein 3, and BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19kDa interacting protein 3. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 27.8 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
