Anti-Matrix metallopeptidase 3 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene MMP3 in humans. The gene may also be known as CHDS6, MMP-3, SL-1, STMY, stromelysin-1, and matrix metalloproteinase 3 (stromelysin 1, progelatinase). Structurally, the protein is reported to be 54 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
