Anti-YAP antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The YAP antigen is another term for the human protein Yes1 associated transcriptional regulator, encoded by the YAP1 gene. The protein is a reported transcriptional regulator which can act both as a coactivator and a corepressor and is the critical downstream regulatory target in the Hippo signaling pathway that plays a pivotal role in organ size control and tumor suppression by restricting proliferation and promoting apoptosis. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 504 residues and a mass of 54.5 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The YAP protein is a member of the YAP1 protein family.
