Anti-CUL3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cullin 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 768 amino acid residues and a mass of 88.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus, golgi, and cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. A member of a the Cullin protein family, CUL3 is an important component of multiple cullin-RING-based BCR (BTB-CUL3-RBX1) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes which mediate the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include NEDAUS and PHA2E.
