Anti-Synaptosome associated protein 25 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene SNAP25 in humans. The gene may also be known as dJ1068F16. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 23.3 kilodaltons in mass. The SNAP25 marker can be used to identify Motor Neurons.* Based on gene name, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
