Anti-AXL receptor tyrosine kinase antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene AXL in humans. The gene may also be known as ARK, JTK11, Tyro7, UFO, tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO, and AXL oncogene. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 98.3 kilodaltons in mass. The AXL marker can be used to identify Transitional Dendritic Cells (TDC).* Based on gene name, plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
