The Biocompare Microscopes and Cell Imaging Systems search tool enables users to compare different instrument specifications, features, and applications to best serve the unique imaging needs of biological researchers. Contemporary microscopes are stand-alone optical devices that enable the necessary magnification needed to visualize processes at the tissue and cellular levels. Thanks to advances in optical technologies, researchers today can enjoy many choices in instruments. Microscopes and imaging systems can be categorized by their general build (such as upright, inverted, or digital systems) or primary function (stereo/zoom, electron, confocal, super-resolution, in vivo imaging, or slide scanning). Another important consideration is the imaging application, as many instrument models can offer multiple capabilities, such as phase contrast, polarization, luminescence, multi-channel fluorescence, darkfield, live cell imaging, 3D imaging, time-lapse, and more. When choosing an imaging instrument, also consider useful features such as automation compatibility, customization options, remote access, and control chambers.
