DNA Modifying Enzymes

DNA Modifying Enzymes Modern molecular biology has been made possible thanks to the use of DNA modifying enzymes, which function to cleave, edit, unfold, join, or remove, segments of nucleic acids. Enabling a myriad of molecular applications, including cloning, mutagenesis, and DNA and RNA purification, these molecular tools encompass a variety of enzyme types. Among these, are DNA and RNA ligases, which connect two separate molecules of DNA and RNA, respectively. Various recombinases enable site-specific incorporation of sequences to form recombinant DNA constructs. Polynucleotide kinases can add phosphate groups or label DNA and RNA. Nucleases, including DNases and RNases, cut or degrade nucleic acids for applications such as purification or assays. Catalogued here are DNA or RNA modifying enzymes from several suppliers.
  • Fantastic enzyme to solubilize cell walls of bacteria

I work extensively with cell wall hydrolases (enzymes) of bacteria. To check the enzymatic activity, I have to solubilize the intact cell wall of bacteria using mutanolysin. To examine the specific site of action on the cell wall, the resultant ... read more
  • Excellent Collagenase Type 2

We have used several bottles of this Type 2 collagenase for dissociation of tissues. Type 2 collagenase contains higher relative levels of protease activity, particularly clostripain, which is suited for the digestion of heart, bone, thyroid, ... read more
