Anti-Interleukin 17A antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene IL17A in humans. The gene may also be known as IL17, IL-17, Interleukin 17, CTLA-8, CTLA8, and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 8. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 17.5 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
