Western Blot kits are prepackaged sets of reagents to carry out qualitative or quantitative Western blotting. Western Blot is a universal technique that determines specific protein expression. It can be highly sensitive, enabling the detection of even very low levels of protein. A diverse selection of these blotting kits are available from several suppliers. Many kits contain a secondary antibody, conjugated to a detection enzyme such as HRP or AP, along with their appropriate substrate. Meanwhile, substrate detection kits contain only chromogens, buffers and/or enhancers. Some kits may also contain components for electrotransfer and blotting on PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes.
