Anti-Siglec-8 antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene SIGLEC8, or 'sialic acid binding Ig like lectin 8' in humans. The 499-amino acid protein is a member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily, SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family. The cellular localization is predicted to be membrane-associated. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
