Anti-S6K1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target S6K1 is a known alias name of the protein ribosomal protein S6 kinase B1, encoded by the RPS6KB1 gene in humans. This 525-amino acid residue protein is a type of serine/threonine-protein kinase that acts downstream of mTOR signaling in response to growth factors and nutrients to promote cell proliferation, cell growth and cell cycle progression. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for S6K1 include PS6K, PS6K, and S6K. Western Blot is the most common application for the S6K1 antibodies listed below. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
