Anti-CD183 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CD183 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CXCR3 gene, which encodes C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 3. This protein is known to function in GPCR signaling pathways and angiogenesis, among other biological roles. The human version of CD183 has a canonical amino acid length of 368 residues and a protein mass of 40.7 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the spleen, rectum, lymph node, colon, and bone marrow. The CD183 marker has been described in the characterization of Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cells.* Other names for this target antigen include CD182 and CKR-L2.
