Anti-sirtuin 3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the SIRT3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 399 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. The sirtuin 3 protein is a member of the Sirtuin protein family. Other names for this target antigen include NAD-dependent protein deacetylase sirtuin-3, mitochondrial, NAD-dependent deacetylase sirtuin-3, mitochondrial, SIR2-like protein 3, and SIR2L3.
