Anti-ELAVL2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ELAV like RNA binding protein 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 359 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.5 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to have brain; neural-specific expression. A member of the RRM elav protein family, ELAVL2 is reported to be a RNA-binding protein that binds to the 3' untranslated region (3'UTR) of target mRNAs (By similarity). Synonyms for this target antigen include HELN1, HUB, ELAV-like protein 2, ELAV (embryonic lethal, abnormal vision, Drosophila)-like 2 (Hu antigen B), and HEL-N1. ELAVL2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 190 citations in the literature describe the use of ELAVL2 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
