Anti-Fibronectin type III domain containing 5 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene FNDC5 in humans. The gene may also be known as irisin, FRCP2, fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5, and fibronectin type III repeat-containing protein 2. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 23.7 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
