LSD1, or Lysine (K)-specific demethylase 1A, is a human gene encoded by KDM1A. It may also be known as: Lysine-specific histone demethylase 1A; BRAF35-HDAC complex protein BHC110; Flavin-containing amine oxidase domain-containing protein 2; Lysine-specific histone demethylase 1A ; AOF2; BHC110; KDM1. The encoded protein is an enzyme with an amino acid length of 852 and a mass of 92.9 kDa. Other isoforms may exist. LSD1 is a member of the Flavin monoamine oxidase family. Homologs of this gene exist in other organisms, including: Mouse, Rat, Zebrafish, Frog, Chicken.
