Anti-FIH antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target FIH is a known alias name of the protein calcium sensing receptor, encoded by the CASR gene in humans. This 1078-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a G-protein-coupled receptor that senses changes in the extracellular concentration of calcium ions and plays a key role in maintaining calcium homeostasis. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated and ubiquitinated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the temporal lobe, frontal lobe, parietal lobe, hippocampus, and cerebellum. Other synonyms for FIH include CAR, EIG8, and FHH. Western Blot is a widely used application for the FIH antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
